My husband and I had been looking for another dog as a companion/hunting dog at the time, we had a 7 year old lab, Amos who now is 9. We had our 1st encounter with a bracco in Monterey, CA on a 3 day vacation. I was hooked but my husband who is an AVID hunter thought she would be some expensive yuppie token dog and did not want me to get her because he didn't think in a million years this dog would hunt. Needless to day, she has completely turned him around. And going to Dan & Lane's get together in September really got him enthusiastic about the breed! We had so much fun thanks Dan & Lane ! We started her in the field at 4 months old. On a 50 foot rope just to let her have gentle exposure to the whole hunting experience. I did a lot of basic obedience with her but the funny thing is, we never really trained her on birds. We just let her do what was so natural. This is her 2nd season hunting so this year we are working on " whoa" patience! - don't bump the bird. Everyting else, she just kind of does. She is still struggling with early season pheasants because the roosters run and don't hold but she is learning how to handle that as she gets older. I would love to see pictures of your dogs ..... I am attaching a couple of pictures out pheasant hunting a couple of weeks ago . Thanks to Dan & Lane for breeding the best dog I have ever owned! Take care .

Pictures of Izzy pointing the first bird of the morning . Look closely at the picture with Keith in it The hen pheasant is about 3 feet from his left foot ! She held this bird on point until Keith kicked it up . She is doing fantastic with " Whoa "

Here are some pictures of pheasant hunting today with Izzy. She was spectacular! She points, swims ditches, retrieves -just an all around awesome dog. She is so mellow at home but she sure "turns it on" in the field.

Just thought I'd say hello. Love the pictures of the new puppies. Wish there would have been a female available.....maybe next time! Your puppies are worth the wait. I don't think I'll ever be able to express to you how much I love this dog.

We are off to a wonderful pheasant season.I am attaching a couple of pictures of Izzy on point yesterday. She did a beautiful point on a pheasant trying to "hide" in some blackberry bushes! But you can't hide from the bracco!!!

Hope all of you are well.
